FULL-TIME LEGAL NURSE CONSULTANT (03/04/25) - posted until position is filled
Trade hands-on patient care, shift work, and working within an ever-changing stressful healthcare environment for a Monday-Friday daytime administrative schedule still utilizing your nursing experience. Applicants must live in Pittsburgh or surrounding areas and be able to commute to our downtown office daily. This is not a remote position.

We are seeking a legal nurse consultant (LNC) for a full-time in-house position to fill the shoes of a beloved long-time LNC who is retiring! Our LNCs assist attorneys paying particular attention to the medical aspects of cases in litigation by obtaining, organizing and summarizing medical records and related documentation and preparing medical research and consults with expert witnesses. While this is a position for a nurse, it is a non-nursing position. Legal experience is not necessary, but research, writing and organizational skills should be excellent! The candidate should have a comfortable working knowledge of Outlook and Word and be willing to learn how to work within company designated software.
Overview

Maintain organized and indexed medical records in digital or paper format as requested by supervising attorney

Analyze medical records for appropriate documentation

Regularly communicate with health care providers, experts, and attorneys

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Must be proficient in written and oral communication, as well as internet research and use of Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills are a must. Candidates should be willing to tackle projects and take initiative to find answers. The LNC position is a hands-on training position. This is an excellent opportunity for the experienced RN who wants the structured daytime "office job"!
